The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, built entirely on British wool with three distinct layers working from surface to core to regulate comfort and durability. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose for a soft feel against the skin, while viscose adds long-lasting durability to a fabric designed for decades of use. Beneath the cover, a layer of hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool provides immediate give, enabling freer air movement through the fibres to moderate temperature through the night. A deeper layer of British fleece wool adds resilience so the surface resists uneven compression over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each coil housed in its own calico pocket to respond to weight independently and support varied builds without interference. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a characteristic carried throughout the range. Available in Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm tensions, the Devonshire can be split across the centre for partners with different preferences in King sizes. Two rows of hand side-stitching secure the border coils to the mattress edge for a firm, consistent sleeping surface, while hand-tufting with felt washers anchors the fillings and prevents lateral shift over years of use.
